Treatment Apartments
Your own apartment, with support on call 24 hours a day — the step between a staffed residence and fully independent living. Certified by the New York State Office of Mental Health.
What it is
Treatment Apartments are real apartments in Dunkirk, Gowanda, Jamestown, Olean and Wellsville. You live on your own; STEL staff are on call around the clock and work with you regularly toward one clear goal — transitioning to independent living.
What you'll work on
The same rehabilitative services as our Community Residences, on your own schedule and turf:
- Daily living skills training — cooking, budgeting, keeping a home
- Medication management and training
- Health services and symptom management
- Rehabilitation counseling and skill development
- Socialization and community integration
- Self-advocacy and assertiveness training
- Substance abuse services
- Parenting training and resource development
Who it's for
Treatment Apartments are designed for adults who:
- Have a primary psychiatric diagnosis meeting DSM criteria
- Are 18 years of age or older
- Can manage personal hygiene with minimal physical assistance
- Can get around independently — assistive devices welcome
- Are medically stable and free from major medical problems
Many residents come to Treatment Apartments from a Community Residence — but that isn’t a requirement. Call and we’ll talk it through.
